According to Fort Lauderdale police spokeswoman Casey Liening, Isaiah Frazier was arrested by FLPD’s Fugitive Unit Monday on charges of first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder.

Authorities said Tanaejah Atterbury was struck by gunfire on Feb. 17 during a chaotic scene on Northwest Eighth Avenue near 16th Street, where neighbors reported multiple fights were breaking out among girls before shots rang out.

Loved ones say Tanaejah, a ninth grader, was shot in the upper body. She was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center, where she later died, according to investigators.

Witnesses say Tanaejah was not involved in the fight that led to the shooting.

“It was girls fighting -- a fight that had nothing to do with her,” a witness said. “She was just standing out there.”

Tanaejah’s family says she loved dancing and making videos with her siblings.
