Man uses hammer to attack senior in Miami-Dade, deputies say

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 25-year-old man used a hammer to hit a senior in the head on Monday in Miami-Dade County, according to deputies.

The victim reported Randy Williams struck him shortly before 8:45 a.m., at Northwest 97 Street and 27 Avenue, in Miami-Dade’s West Little River area.

Deputies responded to arrest Williams and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel took the victim to Northshore Hospital with injuries to his head and hand.

According to the arrest report, deputies searched Williams and found the hammer that he had allegedly used in the attack.

Williams appeared in court on Tuesday facing a charge of aggravated battery on a person who is 65 years old or older. A judge denied him bond.
