PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – A man accused of attacking his mother and a repairman with a machete appeared in Broward County court on Tuesday.
According to an arrest report, Darrell Roberts was angry after his mother asked him to help the repairman move a washing machine.

“One of her hands will likely be amputated,” a police officer wrote adding, she also suffered “deep lacerations to her face.”
Fire rescue personnel used a helicopter to fly his mother to Memorial Regional Hospital after the stabbings on Monday at 1510 SW 190 Ave., in Pembroke Pines, police said.
Roberts, 38, allegedly fled in a burgundy Pontiac and a witness followed until police officers stopped him and arrested him.
Inmate records show correctional deputies booked Roberts at the main jail in Fort Lauderdale, where he remained without bond.
Roberts faces two counts of attempted homicide. Broward County Circuit Judge Michael Lynch was set to preside over the case.
