Fire erupts inside storage unit in Central Broward

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – A fire erupted early Tuesday morning at a storage facility in unincorporated Central Broward.

According to Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue, about 35 firefighters responded to the blaze at a self-storage warehouse located at 132 NW 25th Terrace where they found “moderate smoke conditions coming from two storage units.”

“Crews quickly forced entry into one of the affected units and discovered an active fire burning toward the rear of the space,” BSFR said in an email to Local 10 News.

According to BSFR, firefighters brought the fire under control within 20 minutes.

No injuries were reported, but the fire caused extensive damage to the items inside the unit where the fire originated.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
