According to a police report, the driver picked up Frederic Levesque, of Ranchos de Taos, on Saturday near Homestead.

Levesque sat behind the driver and “suddenly began pulling his hoodie” backward and choking him, so he lost control of the car, according to the police report.

Police officers arrested Levesque along Southwest 296 Street, near 182 Avenue, and reported that while he was in the backseat of the patrol car he “began kicking the door” and hurt his wrists from “tossing around” while in handcuffs.

Fire rescue personnel took Levesque to the Homestead Hospital where he struggled with police officers and “reached” for one of their guns and took a radio, according to the report.

Levesque was at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center Monday facing two counts of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence, depriving an officer of means of protection or communication, and battery.
