New Miss Carnaval crowned in 43rd annual event

MIAMI – Melanie Garcia has been crowned queen at the 43rd annual Miss Carnaval Miami.

The event was held at Miami Senior High School on Saturday night.

A total of 13 contestants between the ages of 16 and 26 competed for the right to be the goodwill ambassador of Carnaval Miami and Kiwanis Club of Little Havana.

“I feel nervous, I feel excited, I feel happy,” said contestant Valeria Perez.

Chosen upon talent, beauty, poise and community involvement, the winner hosts all Carnaval Miami 2025 activities.

Miss Carnaval Miami also receives a college scholarship, paid entry to Miss Florida USA pageant and lots of gifts.

“It’s a tradition for us to pass down the crown and to bestow this honor on another young lady,” said former winner Delaney Milian.

Once crowned, Miss Carnaval has a one year reign.
