PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Pembroke Pines police are investigating a shooting that occurred late Wednesday night outside the Pembroke Lakes Mall.
According to police, officers responded to the AMC movie theater parking lot in the area of 12085 Pines Blvd. just before midnight after receiving multiple calls about gunshots being fired.
Police said officers discovered that an argument had occurred inside the movie theater between two parties and then spilled out into the parking lot, where two males shot at each other.
According to authorities, one man was shot multiple times and was transported by Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue to a local hospital. His injuries were described as “non-life-threatening.”
Police said the other male involved in the shooting ran away and remains at large.
“Due to the nature of this incident, it is believed that this shooting was isolated between the two parties, and no other threat to the community exists,” a news release from PPPD stated.
