KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. – A man once accused of impersonating a security guard to get into a Taylor Swift concert at Hard Rock Stadium found himself back in jail over the weekend facing even more serious charges.

Ivan Mariotti, 44, of Key Biscayne, is now accused of fleeing a Miami-Dade sheriff’s deputy who pulled him over near his home on the island — and delivering a beating that sent the cop to the hospital. They said he also tried to grab the deputy’s gun amid the scuffle.

The Italian national is now facing six felony charges after his arrest Saturday. It came while he faced an active misdemeanor charge of interfering with a sporting or entertainment event in the October 2024 Swift concert case; prosecutors dropped a felony charge of impersonating an officer in December.

Court records show he has a history of arrests in Miami-Dade, including a conviction for felony battery that earned him probation.

According to an arrest report, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Deputy Bryan Battle pulled over Mariotti, who was on a scooter, just before 2:45 p.m. Saturday at Crandon Boulevard and Harbor Drive. It states while Battle wrote him citations, Mariotti “suddenly turned on his scooter and fled the scene.”

Battle followed him into his building — the Oceansound Key Colony II condominiums at 251 Crandon Blvd. — and Mariotti began fighting him as the deputy tried to take him into custody, punching the lawman in the neck and jaw and kicking him, the report states.

“As Deputy Battle continued his efforts to take the defendant (Mariotti) into custody, the defendant reached for the deputy’s firearm. In response, Deputy Battle was able to push the defendant’s hands away and immediately unholstered his firearm, pointing it at the defendant at gunpoint,” the report states. “Despite the warning, the defendant again grabbed Deputy Battle’s firearm. Deputy Battle quickly holstered his firearm and continued trying to restrain the defendant.”

The report states that Mariotti slipped out of his shirt, grabbed Battle’s body-worn camera and pushed the deputy out of the elevator as the doors were closing.

Battle called for backup and he, along with a fellow MDSO deputy and a Key Biscayne police officer, located Mariotti hiding in the bathroom of his sixth-floor apartment, authorities said.

The report states that Battle was treated at Jackson Memorial Hospital for a sprained left hand along with neck and jaw pain.

Deputies arrested Mariotti on various counts including battery on an officer, depriving an officer of a means of protection, evidence tampering and resisting arrest. He was also cited for, among other things, reckless driving.

Jail records show he was behind bars at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $13,000 bond and an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.
