Police said the attack happened at around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday outside the chain’s location at 19960 NW Second Ave., within a shopping plaza.
An arrest report states that Dinishers Hannah III, who is homeless and known to the victim as “Draco,” approached another man carrying a baseball bat and asked him, “What’s so funny?”
Authorities said Hannah began beating the victim with the bat, including blows to the head, back and legs, telling him, “I am going to kill you if you do not leave.”
After the beating, police said Hannah went back to a nearby homeless encampment and handed the bat to someone else.
Police said they located Hannah on Friday behind the same Pizza Hut and arrested him. He was out on felony bond on numerous charges, including for felon in possession of a firearm, at the time.
Statements Hannah allegedly made were redacted from the arrest report.
As of Monday, he was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
