MIAMI – Hundreds of runners, families, and community leaders laced up their sneakers Saturday morning for Feeding South Florida’s Annual Outrun Hunger 5K at Tropical Park in Miami’s Olympia Heights neighborhood.

The event, aimed at raising funds and awareness to combat food insecurity, brought together participants of all ages in a show of support for the fight against hunger.
Runners had the option to join as individuals or as part of a team, with proceeds going directly toward Feeding South Florida’s mission of providing meals to those in need.
Currently, more than 1.2 million people in South Florida experience food insecurity, with one in nine residents uncertain about where they will get their next meal.
Events like Outrun Hunger help support Feeding South Florida’s efforts to distribute millions of pounds of food annually to families across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe counties.
