Police: Boy nearly drowned in Lauderhill pool

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Police officers reported a boy was “found unresponsive” on Friday in a community pool in Lauderhill.

Fire rescue personnel and police officers responded to the Sunny Lake community at Northwest 56 Avenue near 25 Street, according to the Lauderhill Police Department.

“I was able to grab him and lay him on the deck I was getting ready to try to do CPR but he started breathing and I turned him on his side and fluid started coming out,” Tondra Hepburn said.

Fire rescue personnel took him to the Broward Health Medical Center.

Police officers used yellow crime scene tape to block access to the pool.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477 to remain anonymous.
