According to an arrest report, the armed carjacking was reported the night of July 18, 2024, in the 14000 block of Van Buren Street.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the victim was given a bad delivery address and was then contacted via the Uber Eats app and was instructed to deliver the food to the house next to him.

According to the report, as the victim got out of his car and approached the home, four unknown males walked toward him, one of whom was armed with a gun.

Deputies said the victim backed up and raised his hands before hiding behind a post.

The four males then got into the victim’s car and fled the scene, authorities said.

According to the arrest report, the victim’s car was eventually recovered and Crime Scene investigators processed the vehicle for latent prints and DNA.

Deputies said they were able to link 19-year-old Tyler Robinson to the carjacking.

He was arrested Wednesday on an armed carjacking charge.

According to his arrest report, Robinson declined to speak with detectives.

As of Thursday afternoon, he was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where his bond had yet to be set.

Anyone with information about the others involved in the carjacking is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
