Deputies responded to a woman’s house along Northeast 117 Street, near North Miami Avenue, where Fils Clarence Marothiere rented an efficiency.

According to the arrest report, there had been a fight between Marothiere and the landlord’s son, who was unhappy with his late rent.

Deputies reported they decided not to arrest anyone over the fist fight and the landlord’s son left.

That same day, deputies reported the man returned to his mother’s home allegedly to pick up his wallet, and Marothiere attacked him with a knife in the front yard.

Deputies found the man injured on his left shoulder, his friend who intervened with a cut to his left hand, and an 8.5-inch long blade without the handle on the ground.

According to the report, Marothiere ran away, but deputies found him crouching down behind bushes along Northeast 111 Street.

Deputies reported questioning Marothiere, who told them the landlord’s son had returned to attack him again, so he defended himself.

Records show Marothiere had a domestic violence case pending when he was accused of the fight and the stabbing.

Last month, a woman told deputies Marothiere was her boyfriend and in a fit of jealousy he had hit her and stolen her phone, according to an arrest report.

Records show Marothiere is facing four charges in the two pending cases and deputies were holding him without bond on Monday afternoon.

For the domestic violence case, Marothiere is facing robbery and battery charges.

For the stabbing, he is facing attempted murder and aggravated battery charges.
