Attorney Adam Ingber, who is representing Ana Knezevich’s family, told Local 10 News that the lawsuit accuses David Knezevich of orchestrating Ana Maria Knezevich’s killing and includes claims of wrongful death, conspiracy, and fraudulent asset transfers.

It also alleges interference with the right of sepulcher and the tort of outrage, citing his prolonged refusal to release her body for burial.

“We charged aiding and abetting against the non-lawyer defendants for their roles in continuing the conspiracy after they discovered they were part of a murder plot,” Ingberg wrote in a statement released to Local 10 news on Saturday.

The legal action extends beyond U.S. borders. Ingber said the family is initiating proceedings in Serbia against David Knezevich’s mother and cousin for allegedly destroying evidence and receiving Ana Maria’s money.

“I will track anyone who had a hand in this, to the ends of the earth,” Ingber added.

Court filings obtained by Local 10 News last week detail a chilling series of actions leading up to Ana Maria Knezevich’s disappearance.

The 40-year-old Fort Lauderdale woman vanished from her apartment in Madrid, Spain, in February 2024. Prosecutors said David Knezevich is the prime suspect in her kidnapping and murder.

An unsealed 32-page document reveals that in the weeks before Ana Maria went missing, David Knezevich made suspicious online searches and financial transactions:

  • Jan. 8, 2024 – He searched: “mixing bleach and ammonia chemical reaction.”
  • Jan. 14, 2024 – He looked up directions from Madrid, Spain, to Tara National Park, Serbia.
  • Jan. 25, 2024 – He purchased “heavy-duty stretch wrap and duct tape” from Home Depot, bought a laptop from Best Buy, and withdrew $10,000 in cash.

Prosecutors allege that David Knezevich traveled from Serbia to Spain, kidnapped and killed his wife, and disposed of her body.

Surveillance footage released by prosecutors in June 2024 reportedly shows him disguised as a food delivery driver to gain access to her apartment before spray-painting security cameras and leaving with a suitcase.

Court records indicate that Ana Maria and David Knezevich were discussing divorce over WhatsApp and had financial disputes. The filings also reveal that he misled investigators about his whereabouts, falsely claiming to be in Fort Lauderdale when she disappeared.

One particularly disturbing detail found in the legal documents is a notepad allegedly belonging to David Knezevich — filled with quotes from Joseph Stalin.

The family is urging anyone with information regarding Ana Maria Knezevich’s murder, financial transactions, or potential money laundering to come forward.

Anyone with information on the case is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
