Deputies said Brannon Graham, 51, was shot just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday near the 4000 block of Pembroke Road.

Authorities received a call about the shooting, prompting a response from BSO deputies and Hollywood Fire Rescue.

Upon arrival, investigators said Graham was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

BSO’s Homicide Unit detectives were notified and launched an investigation.

The suspect, who BSO identified as Melchior Warren, fled the scene but was located by detectives on Wednesday night, investigators said.

According to detectives, the shooting followed a verbal argument that escalated into a fight before Warren shot Graham.

Jail records show Warren is facing one count of second-degree murder with a firearm.

As of Thursday, Warren is currently being held without bond at the Broward County Main Jail.

Local 10 News has requested Warren’s mugshot from BSO.

A motive remains unclear at this time.
