FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The legal team for the family of Ana Maria Henao filed new legal documents with incriminating details.
Henao’s husband David Knezevich is the sole suspect in her kidnapping and murder.
The 40-year-old Fort Lauderdale woman disappeared from her apartment in Madrid, Spain, in February 2024.
The 32-page document reports Knezevich made troubling online searches one month before she vanished.
- On Jan. 8, 2024, the defendant searched “mixing bleach and ammonia chemical reaction.”
- On Jan. 14, 2024, the search was directions to Tara National Park, Serbia, from Madrid, Spain.
- On Jan. 25, he bought “heavy duty stretch wrap and duct tape from Home Depot; a laptop from Best Buy; and withdrew $10,000 cash from the bank.”
Prosecutors claim Knezevich drove from Serbia to Spain, kidnapped and killed his wife before dumping her body somewhere.
He is accused of posing as a food delivery driver to gain access to her apartment building, before spray painting cameras in the building and leaving with a suitcase.
As far as motive, the documents point to money disagreements amid divorce discussions on WhatsApp.
Court records also say he lied about being in Fort Lauderdale when she vanished. The filing includes a notepad with quotes from Joseph Stalin.
“Death solves all problems. No man no problem.”
Knezevich was arrested at Miami International Airport three months after she disappeared and he has been in jail ever since awaiting trial.
