DAVIE, Fla. – Authorities took several people into custody Tuesday afternoon following a crash in Davie.
It happened around 1:15 p.m. in the area of Griffin Road and Davie Road.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, an investigation into a commercial burglary out of Lighthouse Point that occurred sometime overnight between Monday and Tuesday led to authorities identifying a suspect vehicle.
That vehicle was spotted Tuesday and deputies attempted to perform a traffic stop, but the driver of the vehicle took off.
Soon after, with BSO’s aviation unit tracking the vehicle, it was involved in a crash, after which several people got out of the vehicle and tried to run away, authorities said.
Investigators said deputies took four people into custody, with the help of the Davie Police Department.
The identities of the people in custody have not been released.
