PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Broward firefighters spent hours battling a stubborn fire at a recycling plant in Pembroke Park early Tuesday morning.

Just before 3 a.m., Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to an alarm at a facility on Southwest 31st Avenue.
Upon arrival, authorities said they found smoke coming from the rear of the building and quickly called for reinforcements, bringing in an additional 35 firefighters.
Inside the warehouse, crews encountered a deep-seated fire burning beneath a large pile of recycling debris.
BSFR personnel said firefighters worked for four hours to fully extinguish the flames, using both hand tools and heavy machinery to clear away smoldering material.
No injuries were reported, and the building did not suffer major structural damage, according to investigators.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
