Man, 19, faces 4 attempted murder charges after Miami shooting

MIAMI – A 19-year-old man in Miami stands accused Monday of wearing a ski mask while he wielded a weapon and fired at a car injuring three men and a teenage boy.

Detectives arrested Toddrese Sutton and correctional officers booked him on Friday. According to the arrest report, he admitted to being the shooter.

On Nov. 25, a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy reported there were four wounded in a silver 2015 Hyundai Sonata sedan at Northwest 24 Avenue and 51 Street.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel took them to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Detectives later questioned the four and one reported seeing the shooter.

A Shot Spotter alert reported 24 rounds were fired shortly after 1:20 p.m., on Nov. 25, in the area of Northwest 17 Avenue and 59 Street.

Crime scene investigators found 9mm casings on the sidewalk and in the front yard of the home at 1609 NW 59 Street.

County records show Sutton is facing four counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon, use of a firearm while committing a felony, shooting a deadly missile, and tampering with physical evidence. He also had a pending warrant case for driving without a license.
