FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Authorities have identified the officer involved in a fatal police shooting on Wednesday in Fort Lauderdale.
That officer is Lieutenant Jonathon Bohm.
Authorities said Bohm was off-duty when he opened fire on Damian Orozco at Yacht Haven Park and Marina.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department claims that Bohm can be heard on the police radio transmission stating that Orozco was armed, although he says he didn’t see a gun.
Orozco was rushed to the hospital but ultimately did not survive.
This is the third fatal police-involved shooting this month.
