BSO: Man critically injured in Oakland Park shooting; suspect detained

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. ā€“ A man was critically injured in a shooting Friday afternoon in Oakland Park, authorities said.

Broward County Regional Communications received a call about the shooting shortly after 1:45 p.m. near the 200 block of Northeast 35th Street, according to the Broward Sheriffā€™s Office.

Authorities said BSO deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue responded and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

Paramedics transported him to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, BSO said.

A suspect was detained nearby, and investigators said the shooting may have been ā€œdomestic in nature.ā€

Sky 10 flew over the scene where a woman with a bandage on her leg was talking to a deputy.

No more details about the incident were immediately released.
