Adoptable loving pets await new families in South Florida

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Local 10′s Animal Advocate Jacey Birch is urging the South Florida community to adopt from the Florida Humane Society, where many pets are waiting for loving homes.

Birch visited the animal shelter on Friday, highlighting two long-term residents, Buddy and Goldie, who have spent months — even years — waiting for families to adopt them.

Buddy, who has been at the shelter for nearly two years, was abandoned after undergoing surgery for a tumor and receiving treatment for heartworms.

Despite his difficult start, Buddy is thriving and ready for a fresh start with a caring family.

Goldie, another dog in desperate need of a home, was abandoned when her homeless owner could no longer care for her. Despite her past struggles, Goldie remains a friendly and affectionate dog.

The Florida Humane Society has a wide variety of pets ready for adoption, and Birch encourages South Floridians to visit and consider giving these animals a second chance.

Adoption is the best option for animals in need, and there are so many great pets waiting for their forever homes.
