OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – Opa-locka police are searching for the thief who robbed a man at gunpoint early Tuesday morning while he was using an ATM at a Wells Fargo bank.

According to police, the armed robbery was reported at about 5 a.m. at the Wells Fargo at 13100 NW 27th Ave.
Police said officers arrived at the scene and made contact with the victim who gave them a description of the robber.
Officers then began canvassing the area and found a suspect matching the description provided by the victim near an apartment complex, located in the 2700 block of Ali Baba Avenue.
According to authorities, the suspect fled from officers as they approached him.
A perimeter was then established in the area as they continue to search for the suspect.
Police said law enforcement remained in the area Tuesday afternoon as they continue their search and investigation.
