MIAMI ā A fugitive wanted in Kentucky faced half a dozen charges in Miami-Dade County after a police chase and two hit-and-run crashes that killed a man and injured two victims.

Kentucky records show George Sternbergh, a convicted felon, is also known as āPinky,ā Robert Kane, James Rodriguez, and Ruben Munoz.
Police officers arrested Sternbergh, 57, of Palm Bay, on Thursday at Northwest 17 Avenue and 50 Street in Miamiās Model City neighborhood.
According to the arrest report, a police officer saw Sternbergh driving a 2025 Jeep Wagoneer when he ran over a man near Northwest 14 Avenue.
There was a police chase until Sternbergh crashed into another car, and two others were injured, police said.
Sternbergh jumped out of the Jeep and ran until police officers caught him and arrested him, police said. He has a fugitive warrant out of state.
The victim of the first hit-and-run crash died at Jackson Memorial Hospitalās Ryder Trauma Center. A witness said the manās last heroic act was to push someone out of the way to save them, police said.
Sternbergh appeared in bond court on Saturday.
Records show Sternbergh is facing charges of leaving the scene of a fatal crash, two counts of reckless driving causing serious bodily injury, fleeing and eluding police, driving with a suspended license, and leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury.
Sternbergh has a criminal record that includes identity theft, forged instruments, and drug possession. The Jeep involved in the crashes had the wrong license plate, police said.
