Records show the suspect, Bijan Arceo, appeared in Palm Beach County court on Thursday — his 32nd birthday.
According to an arrest report from the Palm Beach Police Department, the agency’s officers were sent to Mar-a-Lago just after 6 p.m. to assist U.S. Secret Service agents, who had just detained Arceo.
The report states that Arceo gained access to the resort off Ocean Boulevard by the north service gate of the property. Police said Secret Service agents saw him climb over the wall near a gate that had a prominent “No Trespassing” sign.
Police didn’t specify whether Arceo had any specific motive for scaling the wall and entering the president’s resort.
Palm Beach County court records show that a judge gave him a $20,000 bond and ordered he have no contact with Trump and not to enter Mar-a-Lago or any federally restricted area.
Records show he remained in the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office’s Main Detention Center as of Thursday afternoon.
