FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The mother of a boy charged in connection with a violent online threat against Pembroke Pines Charter School bonded out of jail Thursday.
Elizabeth Smith, 38, was in court after authorities accused her of instructing her 15-year-old son, Logan James Gollinger, to delete evidence. Both are from Amsterdam, New York.
Gollinger was expected to be in court Thursday but had his flight rescheduled due to bad weather.
Investigators believe that he, along with another suspect, Juan Banos, a 14-year-old from Ann Arbor, Michigan, may be part of a larger network targeting schools for amusement.
Smith declined to speak with Local 10 News as she left the courtroom.
Gollinger’s appearance has been tentatively rescheduled for Monday.
