Miami holds permit until Freedom Park developers pay $12.5M

MIAMI – Miami Freedom Park developers owe the city $12.5 million, so officials decided to withhold the master permit.

The park is the home of David Beckham’s dream: A new Inter Miami soccer stadium.

Since its inception, Inter Miami has played at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale at what the team called a temporary home when they built it in 2020.

The payment was due on Jan. 10.

The city issued a permit to allow crews to build vertically.
