Authorities said Jeralal Pierce was killed and Andy Baron, 34, was injured in the Tuesday morning shooting.
According to MDSO, deputies responded to the parking lot of Club Climaxx, located at 12001 NW 27th Ave., at about 2:11 a.m. after receiving reports about a shooting.
Deputies said they arrived and found two men who had been shot.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel pronounced Pierce dead at the scene. Baron was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.
“The preliminary information indicates the decedent provoked a physical altercation with the victim, and there was an exchange of gunfire,” an MDSO spokesperson said in an email to Local 10 News. “The victim is out of surgery and in stable condition.”
Although detectives believe Pierce was the initial aggressor, they are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or has more information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
