Coconut Creek police said they zeroed in on 18-year-old Monarch High School student Marlon Miranda after receiving at least a half-dozen tips about illicit content from online platforms Discord, Snapchat and X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter.
All of the images and videos described in the publicly-available portions of Miranda’s arrest report depicted young girls.
Police said they were able to identify Miranda as the person sharing the content online with the help of school resource officers and internet subscriber data.
Much of the rest of the arrest report was redacted.
Miranda, charged with 11 counts related to child sexual abuse material, was being held in the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail on an $82,500 bond, online records show.
