Gordon Brothers, a Boston-based investment group, purchased the company in early January. Since the purchase, the remaining South Florida locations have appeared on a list of stores with the lease up for sale.

These locations include:

  • Coral Springs: 725 University Drive.
  • Fort Lauderdale: 1003 W State Rd. 84
  • Miami: 11247 SW 40 St.
  • Pembroke Pines: 7930 Pines Blvd.

Columbus, Ohio-based Big Lots sells furniture, home decor and other items. In a filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission last September, board members said inflation and high interest rates caused consumers to pull back on their purchases of home and seasonal products, two categories the chain depends on for a significant part of its revenue.
