According to the Miami-Dade Sheriffā€™s Office, deputies responded to the parking lot of Club Climaxx, located at 12001 NW 27th Ave., at about 2:11 a.m. after receiving reports about a shooting.

Deputies said they arrived and found two men who had been shot.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel pronounced one of the men dead at the scene. The other person was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospitalā€™s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.

ā€œThe preliminary information indicates the decedent provoked a physical altercation with the victim, and there was an exchange of gunfire,ā€ an MDSO spokesperson said in an email to Local 10 News. ā€œThe victim is out of surgery and in stable condition.ā€

An employee at a nearby business named John told Local 10 News that this isnā€™t the first time the adult entertainment club has turned into a crime scene.

ā€œLast time, maybe about half a year ago or so,ā€ he said. ā€œItā€™s getting berserk back here and itā€™s getting too wild. You know, we need to get the guns off the streets and get people together, you know what I mean?ā€

The MDSO Homicide Bureau has assumed the investigation into Tuesdayā€™s shooting.

After the shooting, investigators zeroed in on a black Nissan Altima that had its window blown out and windshield wipers still running.

No other details were immediately released.

ā€œItā€™s just a rough place sometimes, man. You know, things get out of hand -- we just need to love each other,ā€ John said.

The victimā€™s identity has not yet been released, but family members of an employee at the club told Local 10 they havenā€™t heard from their relative and theyā€™re looking for him.

Anyone with further information about the shooting is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
