SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. – A veteran real estate broker in South Florida was awaiting sentencing in a federal criminal case associated with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
State records show Roman Sinyavsky has had a real estate license in Florida since 1995 and his registered main address was in Sunny Isles Beach.

According to federal prosecutors, Sinyavsky admitted to “engaging in a scheme to violate U.S. sanctions and commit money laundering” for Viktor Perevalov and Valeri Abramov, Russian oligarchs who were sanctioned.
State records also show Sinyavsky has been doing business under Family International Realty since 2002, and also set up Miami VIP Properties in 2008.
As part of the plea agreement, Sinyavsky agreed to forfeit about $182,440. He and his company also agreed to pay a civil penalty of over $1 million to the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
FBI Miami and the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department investigated the case.
Sinyavsky faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to violate sanctions and to commit money laundering.
