Family wants answers after driver remains unknown in fatal Davie hit-and-run

‘Celebration of Life’ is being held Saturday for 32-year-old Nicole Bobb

DAVIE, Fla. – The family of a woman killed in a hit and run in Davie last year said they are frustrated the driver has yet to be revealed, claiming police are already in possession of the car involved in the wreck.

“They told me that day that a lawyer had called them and said he had a client who wanted to turn himself in regarding the hit and run on Flamingo,” said Elizabeth Bobb, who’s daughter Nicole died in October 2024.

“They have to prove who was driving the car. So (per that attorney) we’re not going to turn you in, we’re just going to turn the car in.”

Davie police would only confirm that they are following strong leads and have a person of interest in this case.

Authorities have been examining pieces of evidence, but could not elaborate on investigative tactics.

The family plea comes less than 24 hours after relatives picked up Nicole Bobb’s personal effects from the Davie Police Department.

Among them were pieces of jewelry, a shattered cellphone, broken glasses and the hair tie she was wearing on the day of the incident.

“I just don’t understand how you can leave somebody and just not do anything,” said Bobb.

Relatives are rallying to get more information.

Nicole Bobb, 32, was struck in the early morning hours on Flamingo Road in Davie near Southwest 26th street.

The stretch of road has few stop lights and no overhead lighting. It is a well known problem area when it comes to traffic accidents, according to many who work nearby.

Bobb’s family is asking anyone with information to come forward and tell police, in the hopes of providing additional details that could help them find closure.

The family said they could understand if this was one big accident, on a dark roadway, but called the rush to leave the scene “inhumane.”

Bobb’s family is planning a ‘Celebration of Life’ and candlelight vigil on Saturday. The event is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Quarterdeck in Davie at 3155 S. University Dr.
