Video shows Los Angeles man stomping on Uber driver’s car while stopping traffic in Miami Beach

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Police arrested a Los Angeles man Tuesday night after they said he was caught on camera climbing onto an Uber driver’s car and stomping on it during a dispute near a liquor store in Miami Beach, causing traffic disruptions and vehicle damage.

Miami Beach police officers responded to the 1600 block of Collins Avenue, where they found 29-year-old James Brown Madison, on top of a white 2021 Toyota RAV4 just after 8:30 p.m.

Authorities said the victim, who was visibly distraught, told police she had been hired as Madison’s Uber driver and was dropping him off at the I Love Liquor store located at 1678 Collins Avenue.

The refusal led to an argument that escalated when Madison stood in front of her vehicle, preventing her from leaving, investigators said.

The victim said she felt trapped in her car and feared for her safety as Madison began banging on the hood and windows before climbing onto the vehicle, according to the report.

Police said they observed visible dents on the hood, shoe prints on the windshield, and a displaced side mirror.

The damage, which the victim estimated could exceed $1,000, told police that the incident disrupted her ability to use the SUV as her source of income.

Authorities said the altercation caused significant disruptions, including traffic congestion and disturbances to nearby businesses.

Jail records show Madison is facing one count of disorderly conduct/ breach of the peace and criminal mischief.

As of Wednesday, Madison is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where his bond was set at $2,650.
