Body cam video shows Miami Beach takedown of pair wanted in $1.7M jewelry heist

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. ā€“ Local 10 News has obtained exclusive body camera video showing the moments Miami Beach police busted a duo wanted in a $1.7 million dollar jewelry heist out of Nashville, Tennessee.

The bust happened back in late October.

According to Miami Beach police, Milleni Garcia and Orlando Valdes Hernandez walked into a store called Dubai Jewelry, located in a strip mall in southeastern Nashville, and ā€œbegan browsing the merchandiseā€ and then ā€œthey took out guns and threatened the employees, ultimately stealing gold and other valuable items before fleeing.ā€

The pair wound up in Miami Beach at the Grand Beach Hotel. Arrest reports at the time listed the pair as residing in southwest Miami-Dade.

They were arrested by police in full gear, who had been waiting to take them down.

Garcia and Hernandez are facing armed robbery, assault and kidnapping charges in Tennessee.
