FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A fire erupted Friday afternoon in the engine room of a yacht in Fort Lauderdale, firefighters confirmed.

According to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue spokesman Frank Guzman, the fire was reported in the area of 2301 SE 17th St.
He said the yacht is about 100 feet long.
According to Guzman, no one was injured in the fire, which was extinguished within about 20 minutes after firefighters arrived.
Both of the department’s fire boats, plus the county’s fire boat responded to the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
