HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Colleagues and coworkers of Jose Parra gathered on the side of Interstate 95 to honor the life of the 28-year-old.
“We want justice for my husband,” said Stacie Parra, the victim’s wife.
Parra had been a road ranger for about a year.
He lost his life New Year’s Day when he was run into while helping an accident victim on the side of I-95 near Hollywood Boulevard.
Several days have passed and the family has gotten little information.
The Florida Highway Patrol says it’s an ongoing investigation.
The incident began when a white BMW driven by a 45-year-old woman from Miami collided with the rear of a Honda Accord.
Investigators said the BMW then veered into the express lane, striking a concrete wall before colliding with the road ranger’s service truck.
Two FHP troopers suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Parra’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover final expenses.
