The incident occurred on Dec. 12, 2024, at the Family Dollar located at 745 NW 119th St.
North Miami police said Kendall Kenrico Palmer, who is listed as homeless in an arrest report, threatened an employee with a box-cutting knife before fleeing with some of the store’s merchandise.
According to investigators, Palmer entered the store around 8:55 a.m. and filled a white plastic bag with about $200 worth of hygiene products.
As Palmer approached the exit without paying, police said an employee confronted him.
Palmer then pulled an orange box-cutter from his waistband and pointed it at the employee before leaving the store with the items, the report stated.
Authorities confirmed that the incident was captured on surveillance video and investigators later identified Palmer as the suspect.
Jail records show he is facing one count of armed robbery with a weapon.
Palmer was not listed as an inmate on the Miami-Dade jail website as of Tuesday afternoon.
