Olivier Ricardy Alexandre, 28, had pleaded guilty to possession of ammunition and possession of a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon, a news release from the Department of Justice stated.
U.S. District Court Judge David S. Leibowitz handed down the sentence on Jan. 3, increasing the penalty by 105 months due to the severity of the crimes.
Less than a month after being sentenced to probation in Kentucky for marijuana trafficking, investigators said Alexandre fired 18 rounds at a man entering his Miami-Dade home on March 13, 2023.
The shell casings linked the weapon to three prior shootings, including one where the same victim had been shot in October 2022, according to forensic analysis obtained by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
Plantation police said officers were surveilling Alexandre’s home when he confronted a tow truck driver repossessing a vehicle on March 21, 2023 and pulled out a handgun with an extended magazine before being arrested at the scene.
