Olympian Fred Kerley released from jail following South Beach arrest, domestic incident

MIAMI – With lawyers by his side Olympic Sprinter Fredrick Kerley bonded out of jail Saturday night.

The 29-year-old was wanted by police for a strong armed robbery and domestic violence incident from May of 2024.

Kerley allegedly strangled his wife, Angelica Taylor, twice in their Miami home.

In bond court Saturday, Taylor spoke against Kerley.

“They asked me to be here and speak on his behalf, but I want to proceed with pressing charges on him,” she told the judge.

According to authorities, the altercation unfolded following an argument over contact Taylor allegedly made with someone on social media.

Kerley is said to have approached his wife in an “aggressive manner,” according to arrest documents.

Per his arrest report, Taylor punched Kerley “in fear” prior to him allegedly strangling her.

During the incident, the report states Kerley then took her cellphone while she screamed for help.

On Thursday, Kerley was arrested by Miami Beach police after allegedly assaulting an officer after he was unable to get to his vehicle on the 100 Block of Ninth Street.

That resulting in the athlete being tased and arrested, charged with battery on an officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct, along with his 32-year-old girlfriend Cleo Rahman of Bad Girls Club fame.
