BSO: Man killed, woman detained following domestic-related shooting in Tamarac

TAMARAC, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday in Tamarac.

According to authorities, someone called 911 at about 6 p.m. to report a domestic disturbance in the 8900 block of Northwest 78th Street.

Authorities said deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue responded to the scene and found a man who had been shot.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Tamarac Fire Rescue. BSO later identified the man as Charles Mowry, 44, of Southwest Ranches.

Authorities confirmed that a woman was detained for questioning and is cooperating with detectives.

BSO spokeswoman Miranda Grossman said after homicide detectives complete their investigation, they will present the case to the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, which will decide whether to prosecute the shooter.
