KEY WEST, Fla. – Authorities took more than a dozen Cuban migrants into custody late Sunday night after they landed near Key West International Airport.

According to the U.S. Border Patrol, 18 Cuban migrants came ashore on a rustic vessel.
Key West police said they responded to South Roosevelt Boulevard, detained six migrants and later found the others.
All had Cuban identifications and passports, police said.
Police said medics took two migrants to Lower Keys Medical Center “due to dehydration and loss of feeling in their extremities.”
The rest were handed over to the Border Patrol and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission secured their boat.
