According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, a woman called 911 just after 12:45 p.m. to report that a man, later identified as Jarek Ryszard Widelski, pulled a handgun on her while driving near mile marker 102.

MCSO spokesperson Adam Linhardt said deputies pulled over Widelski in his pickup truck soon after and found the “realistic-looking airsoft gun.”

Deputies arrested Wideslki on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and improper exhibition of a firearm.

As of Friday afternoon, MCSO records show he was held in the agency’s Key West jail facility on a $25,000 bond.

Those records also show he has a court hearing scheduled for Feb. 4.
