CUTLER BAY, Fla. – A 56-year-old man died early Friday morning after being shot multiple times at a gas station in Cutler Bay, police confirmed.
Miami-Dade Police Detective Andre Martin said officers responded to reports of a shooting just after midnight at a Mobil gas station located near the 20200 block of South Dixie Highway.
9 a.m. report:
Upon arrival, police said they found a man, identified as Vincent Arthur McCrow suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Martin said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported the victim to Jackson South Medical Center in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.
“I was at work, and I was just devastated,” said Deidre McCrow, the victim’s sister, through tears when speaking to Local 10 News.
According to detectives, McCrow was involved in a discussion with another man at the gas station when the situation escalated into violence.
The man McCrow was speaking with initially left the scene but returned while officers were investigating, Martin said.
“We are in the process of interviewing that individual, but we are also working with employees at this gas station to obtain any video evidence that can provide clarity on what happened,” Martin added.
McCrow’s sister shared a recent photo of them together in happier times, expressing disbelief over his death.
“He’s been in some problems before, but for the past two years, he’s been doing his life right,” she said. “He mostly stays home on the weekends, plays his music, and keeps to himself. I don’t even know why he was out.”
Authorities also confirmed that an individual was taken into custody and will be interviewed by detectives.
Police have not disclose any information on the culprit or a possible motive at this time.
Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
