Man shot dead outside Presidente Supermarket in Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale police investigated a shooting outside of a Presidente Supermarket Wednesday. (WPLG)

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fort Lauderdale police investigated a deadly shooting in a grocery store parking lot late Christmas morning.

According to police, the suspect opened fire at around 11:15 a.m. outside of the Presidente Supermarket at 1035 NW Ninth Ave., near the city’s Lauderdale Manors neighborhood.

Detective Ali Adamson, a Fort Lauderdale Police Department spokesperson, said medics took the victim to Broward Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

“The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information about the identity of the suspect(s) responsible is encouraged to contact FLPD immediately,” she said in an email to Local 10 News.

Authorities have not released the victim’s name as of Wednesday afternoon.
