FAA investigates what caused drones to crash over crowd injuring boy in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 7-year-old boy was injured after the drones that were part of a planned 15-minute choreographed aerial show over a Christmas-themed market for families went rogue and started to collide and fall over the crowd.

Adriana Edgerton, the boy’s mother, described the experience on Saturday night at Lake Eola Park in Downtown Orlando as terrifying.

“My baby is going into emergency heart surgery off of just trying to watch a drone show,” the boy’s mother, Adriana Edgerton, wrote on Facebook.

The city reported technical difficulties were to blame while Sky Elements Drones ran the show and apologetically canceled the second show. The Federal Aviation Administration was investigating.
