MIAMI – A friend of three wealthy brothers with ties to Miami Beach and New York’s luxury real estate industry surrendered to authorities in Miami-Dade on Wednesday as part of a gang rape case.
Ohad Fisherman, a family friend of Oren, Alon and Tal Alexander, faces one state charge of sexual battery with multiple perpetrators, a first-degree felony, in connection with one of the three local incidents in Miami Beach.
Fisherman, 39, who was reportedly on his honeymoon in Japan last week when the brothers were arrested, was arraigned on state charges in Miami-Dade court Wednesday. Fisherman is accused of participating in a gang rape back in December 2016, according to authorities.
A judge set Fisherman’s bond at $25,000, along with a personal surety bond of $260,000, guaranteed by his wife and mother-in-law. His attorney said in court that his net worth is less than $1 million and said he moved to South Florida at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, which crashed his business.
Originally from Israel, Fisherman served in that country’s defense force, his attorney said.
Fisherman was ordered to wear an ankle monitor at level three, stay away from the victim, and surrender both his U.S. and Israeli passports. He will be booked in jail and can post bond afterward.
Court documents obtained by Local 10 News allege that Fisherman held the victim down while Oren and Alon Alexander took turns assaulting her.
Jeffrey Sloman, Fisherman’s defense attorney, strongly disputes the allegations, saying, “He vehemently denies them.”
Jail records show Oren and Alon Alexander, both 37, face federal charges of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion. The alleged crimes date back to 2010 and involve evidence such as text messages, videos, photos, and testimony from about 40 women, according to FBI Special Agent Justine Atwood.
Investigators allege three separate assaults took place in Florida between December 2016 and October 2021, each involving a different victim. The charges against the Alexanders have drawn widespread attention due to their prominence in the real estate and security industries.
Oren and Tal Alexander founded Official, a luxury real estate firm with offices in Manhattan and Miami Beach.
The Alexander twins appeared in Miami state court last Friday, where they were granted bail before being transferred to federal custody.
Local 10 News has also learned that Tal Alexander has hired Howard Srebnick, a high-profile Miami defense attorney, to lead his defense.
Srebnick is known for representing prominent clients, including Jeffrey Epstein and Justin Bieber, and his involvement signals an aggressive strategy as Alexander’s legal team challenges his detention.
Oren and Alon Alexander remain in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as their state court hearing, originally scheduled for Monday, was postponed to Thursday, their attorney Joel Denaro confirmed to Local 10 News.
The Alexander brothers’ first federal court appearance has not yet been scheduled, but they will be transported by U.S. Marshals for a pre-trial detention hearing.
Fisherman is expected to be booked into jail before posting bond.
Local 10 News visited the Miami Beach address listed for Fisherman in his arrest report. According to front gate security, the phone line to his unit was disconnected, preventing reporters from reaching anyone for comment.
The Alexander brothers were previously summoned to respond in legal action within 20 days. Read the court filing below.
