Hearing reset for real estate tycoon brothers charged with rape in Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Luxury real estate moguls Oren and Alon Alexander, 37-year-old twin brothers with ties to Miami-Dade County and Israel, remain in custody as their Miami-Dade court hearing, originally scheduled for Monday, has been postponed to Thursday, their attorney Joel Denaro confirmed to Local 10 News.

The Alexanders, accused of running a sex trafficking ring dating back to their days at Michael Krop Senior High School, were arrested last week.

Denaro said the twins’ first federal court appearance, tied to an indictment out of New York, has not yet been scheduled and will be handled by a separate legal team based in New York.

In the meantime, the brothers will remain at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

Following their federal first appearance, they will stay at TGK until a pre-trial detention hearing is set. For federal court proceedings, the U.S. Marshals will handle their transport, Denaro confirmed.

Their older brother, Tal Alexander, 38, remains at the Federal Detention Center in Miami following a federal judge’s decision Friday to deny him bond.

Magistrate Judge Lisette Reid rejected a defense proposal that included $115 million in pledged real estate assets, citing the severity of the allegations.

The Alexander brothers face federal charges for conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, stemming from crimes allegedly committed between 2010 and 2021.

FBI Special Agent Justine Atwood testified Friday that evidence includes text messages, videos, photos, and testimony from about 40 women who described similar experiences.

Miami-Dade prosecutors have also filed state cases against the twins for alleged sexual assaults in 2016, 2017, and 2021, including an alleged gang rape involving family friend and co-defendant Ohad Fisherman, who is reportedly on his honeymoon in Japan and is expected to surrender this week.

On Thursday, Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer denied bond for the twins.

The next day, Judge Lody Jean granted pre-trial release agreements requiring a $3 million personal surety for Oren Alexander and $2 million for Alon Alexander, though both remained in custody pending the federal proceedings.

Oren Alexander, who pleaded in court to be with his wife as she prepares to give birth, and Alon Alexander, both married professional models. The Alexanders’ families have been thrust into the spotlight, with Oren’s wife, Brazilian model Kamila Hansen, deleting her social media accounts after his arrest.

Federal prosecutors say the brothers’ actions targeted dozens of victims, some of whom have since come forward with civil lawsuits.

“This investigation is far from over,” said U.S. Attorney Damian Williams. “If you have been a victim of these crimes or have information, we urge you to come forward.”

The Alexanders will remain in custody until their first federal court appearance, after which a pre-trial detention hearing will be scheduled. They will be transported to federal court by U.S. Marshals.
