MIAMI – While facing federal charges for a sex trafficking conspiracy that goes back to their days at Michael Krop Senior High School, jet-setting luxury real estate moguls with deep roots in Miami-Dade County and Israel remained behind bars.
Far from their luxurious lifestyles, the 37-year-old twin brothers Oren and Alon Alexander were waiting for a federal court hearing Monday in Miami after a federal judge denied their older 38-year-old brother Tal Alexander’s bond on Friday.
On Saturday, Miami-Dade County inmate records show Alon Alexander was at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and Oren Alexander was at the Metrowest Detention Center. Correctional officers booked both of them on Wednesday. Federal inmate records show Tal Alexander was at FDC Miami on Saturday.
Magistrate Judge Lisette Reid in Miami rejected the defense attorney’s pledge of $115 million in real estate holdings that included a Bal Harbour residence owned by their Israeli father, Shlomy Alexander, a real estate developer and co-founder of a security company.
Reid listened to testimony Friday by FBI Special Agent Justine Atwood who reported the evidence showing a pattern includes text messages, videos, photos, and the testimony of about 40 women who did not know each other, but described similar nightmares.
In Miami-Dade County, prosecutors filed cases over an alleged 2016 New Year’s Eve gang rape and sexual batteries in 2017 and 2021 against the twins. The 2016 case also includes Ohad “Hummus Hunk” Fisherman, 38, whose attorney reported in court was on his honeymoon in Japan.
The 2016 victim who alleged to have met one of the twins on Bumble, a free dating app, also filed a civil lawsuit on Thursday in New York State Supreme Court after the Alexander brothers were arrested. County Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer denied the twins bond on Thursday.
On Friday, County Circuit Judge Lody Jean granted the twins pre-trial release in agreements that included a personal surety of $3 million for Oren Alexander and $2 million for Alon Alexander.
“My wife is nine months pregnant and [she is] due any day with our first child,” Oren Alexander said in court. “Her family is in Brazil, and she is counting on me to be with her during labor.”
Both Oren and Alon Alexander wed professional models who are brunette and 5 foot 10 inches tall. Last year, Vogue published photos of Oren Alexander’s wedding in Isla Morada to Kamila Hansen, who is from Brazil’s Cabo de Santo Agostinho. She deleted her Instagram account after the arrest.
The indictment on conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and sex trafficking by force, cause, or coercion alleges the three brothers’ crimes were from at least in or about 2010, up to about 2021.
Tal Alexander wed Arielle Kogut, the founder of Celine Recruiting, last year after a short engagement. Alon Alexander had already wed Shani Zigron in 2020. The model told Ocean Drive that year that she had served in the Israeli military for two years. They have two children.
FBI Assistant Director in Charge James E. Dennehy said in a statement that the brothers were “predators” and the cases would not have been possible had it not been for the “bravery” of the victims.
U.S. Attorney Damian Williams released a statement saying the federal investigation was “far from over” even though there was evidence showing the three brothers “repeatedly and violently sexually assaulted and raped dozens” of victims.
“If you have been a victim of the alleged sexual violence perpetrated by Alon Alexander, Oren Alexander, or Tal Alexander – or if you know anything about their alleged crimes – we urge you to come forward.”
