The victim told Miami police that he met Miguel Angel Acevedo, 55, of Allapattah, on LGBTQ+ dating app Grindr and the two continued communicating over their cellphones.

An arrest report states that the victim lied to Acevedo about his age and told him that he was 16.

After Acevedo agreed to pay the victim $100 for sex, he then picked the victim up near his home and transported him to an unknown motel room in Miami-Dade County, the report stated.

Police said after arriving at the motel room, Acevedo provided the victim with beer and a pack of Marlboro cigarettes.

Once inside the motel room, police said Acevedo pulled out a pair of heels and a woman’s outfit, asking the victim if he could wear them, to which the victim agreed, according to investigators.

After putting on the woman’s outfit, police said the victim engaged in sexual activity with Acevedo.

After the sexual interaction, authorities said Acevedo drove to a TD Bank, withdrew only $80, and told the victim he had no more money after handing it to him.

Police said Acevedo was eventually located in front of his home and was detained while inside his car.

Acevedo gave police consent to search his car, where they found a pair of heels and a woman’s outfit described by the victim.

According to his arrest report, Acevedo picked the victim up from his home and drove him to a motel but denied any sexual activity.

Acevedo also admitted withdrawing $80 from an ATM at a TD Bank but denied it was for sex.

Jail records show Acevedo is facing one count each of human trafficking of a minor, leud and lascivious battery with sexual activity, contributing to the delinquency and dependency of a child, illegal use of a computer to serve, travel or meet a minor in or out of state and interference with custody.

As of Wednesday, he is being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
